My father Heinz Radicke was born in Greifswald on January 22, 1897 and took part in World War I as a soldier. He was drafted in the summer of 1916 and served as a corporal in the intelligence department of the 131st Infantry Regiment, 1st Platoon. Initially he was stationed in Halberstadt.
