Feldpostkarten an Friedrich Ahrens
Fieldpostcards to Friedrich Ahrens
The addressee Friedrich (Fidi, Fritz) Ahrens (1888-1956), grandfather of Vera Knop, did not have to go to war. He worked for the Archduke Oldenburg Railway and was therefore released. On the other hand, his brothers Christian and Bernhardt and his brother-in-law Gustav Sommer were in the war - both on the western and eastern fronts.
