This unknown native of Rijeka, the son of mayor Antonio von Vallentsit (1829-1902) was the first commander of Udin during the capture of the city in the fall of 1917. An excellent soldier, and especially his chivalrous behavior helped him to get a residence in Rijeka after the war, because the Rijeka clergy and the political leaders wanted to steal that too.
