Aschenbecher aus einer Granathülse
Ashtray from a shell
Ashtray crafted from grenade projectile. Manufacturer's engraving on the back: "248 Polte Sept 1915 Magdeburg, Mg3 (with engraved crown)"; Engraved on the side (by the artist) "1914 Champagne 1916", with decorations on the side and rim. Made by a German prisoner of war (grandfather?) in a prison camp in Champagne.
