Willy Meyer writes from Western Front
Willy Meyer (born around 1900) was born in Aschersleben in Saxony-Anhalt. During the war he belonged to the 7th battery of the 231st Field Artillery Regiment, which was stationed in France. Meyer once recounted that he had killed 14 French. For this he was awarded the Iron Cross, First Class. He was a young man at war, about 18 or 19 years old. He didn't say much about the war.
