Komon 小紋. Pattern with objects (kibutsu monyō 器物文様): the Three Largest Cities (santo 三都) - Kyō(to) 京(都), Ōsaka 大阪 and Edo 江戸
Untergrund gefärbt (jizomari 地染). Rechtecke mit Ortsnamen. Passermarken (hoshi 星). Färbeschablonen für komon 小紋 („feines Muster“) werden meistens im Drillschnittverfahren (kiribori 錐彫) hergestellt. Komon ist nicht nach einer spezifischen Richtung hin ausgerichtet und ist so fein, dass es aus der Entfernung monochrom erscheint.
