Decorated Cross Slab 253, Clonmacnoise (Images)
Early christian decorated cross slab now on display at the visitors centre Clonmacnoise. Contains a six-line cross with circular expansion at the centre charged with a spiral device, and semi-circular expansions at the terminals charged with key-pattern (Macalister, 1949). Inscription: OROIT DO THU ATHAL SAER Translation: A prayer for Tuathal (PN) the craftsman (Macalister, 1949)
