ROMAN BROOCH

Roman (2nd Century AD) cast copper alloy lozenge shaped plate brooch. There is a central circular boss containing traces of red enamel. There are three concentric rings around the central boss. The upper surface has a trace of a white metal coating. On the reverse is a double hinge lug located on one corner of the lozenge, with the catchplate on the opposing corner. The pin is missing.
