Land off Old Hexham Road - desk-based assessment
A desk top study on a green field site in advance of a planning application for housing studied the history of the area. As well post mediaeval industrial archaeology in the area, it is within the boundary of the English Heritage Battlefield register map of Newburn Ford 1640. The possibility exists of gun emplacements associated with the battle, according to historical sources.
