My maternal grandfather volunteered for military service in Hamburg at the age of 19. He was hired as a musketeer in the I. of the 76th Infantry Regiment. After the recruit period, he was deployed on the Eastern Front. On 11/18 In 1914 Heinrich Kiehn near Lodz was wounded for the first time.
