BRONZE AGE VESSEL
Large rim sherd of a hand-made earthenware vessel dating from the Bronze Age, c. 2150-800BC. The vessel sherd is comparatively thick and heavy for its size which is typical for Bronze Age pottery. It was made from very gritty local clay with many medium-sized and larger inclusions of grit and quartzite. The fabric is rough and the breaks show inclusions of up to 5mm long.
