Krvavé sonety
The cycle of poems called Bloody sonnets is the work of Paul Orszagh Hviezdoslav (1849 - 1921), one of the most important representatives of Slovak literature. Author with this work reacts on the atrocities of World War I and expresses the desire for peace and faith in a better world order. Bloody Sonnets written shortly after the outbreak of war in 1914 were published only in 1919.
