Sammelkarten und Porträts waren zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts bei Filmfans sehr beliebt. Sie zeigen die Anfänge des Starkults und der Fankultur in der Filmindustrie. Die Möglichkeit, Filmstars in der Hosentasche mit sich zu tragen und ein eigenes Album mit persönlichen Favoriten zusammenzustellen, machte diese Massenprodukte so attraktiv – und weit verbreitet, wie die Sammlungen aus ganz Europa in dieser Galerie deutlich machen.
