Finger ring with the head of a woman
Gold finger rings, rare in Archaic Greece, growth in popularity in the Greek world in the 5th and 4th century BCE. Many of them were decorated with idealized heads of women and men, miniaturistic versions of a a naturalist idiom developed in large works of sculpture. The delicacy of detail of these examples is characteristic of the Late Classic style. Material and technique: Gold.
