Dolls
The history of dolls goes back thousands of years. In ancient times, dolls were made from wood, clay, and fabric. In the Middle Ages, they were simple rag or wooden dolls. In the 18th–19th centuries, porcelain dolls became popular, often with elegant clothing and real hair. From the late 19th century, industrial production and plastic made dolls cheaper and more accessible. In 1959, Barbie marked a new era. Today, dolls are not only toys, but can also carry cultural and social meanings.
