Army Unit in Position during the Winter in the Second Anglo-Afghan War
Burke was one of the first to take photographs in Afghanistan. This was occasioned by the Second Anglo-Afghan War (1878-1880). He travelled with the army and photographed English encampments and Afghan warlords. The photographs came on the market under the title Afghan War Album.
