Technical description: Soundboard of spruce; back and neck of sycamore; fingerboard, tailpiece and pegs of ebony; nut and tail-gut hook of ivory. The back and ribs are carved out of a single piece of wood. Violin-shaped body with f-holes, inlaid purfling of ebony/holly(?)/ebony. Golden varnish. Soundpost and bass bar inside instrument. Head end in a stub rather than a scroll or finial. Tailpiece curved underneath, of ebony with a mother-of-pearl strip inlaid on the front at the top, the tailpiece gut is attached to an ivory block which is flush with the ribs and protruding at the top, the block attached to the body with two ivory plugs. Tapered block between the fingerboard and neck. The back and neck are figured. Neck length 160; fingerboard length 205.5, width at nut 22.4, at bottom 35.2.
