Technical description: Soundboard of spruce; body of mahogany; fingerboard and tailpiece of ebony; tuners of metal; bottom of boxwood. The handle of the walking stick removes to get access to the bow compartment. Half of the centre section removes to allow the instrument to be played. Flame-shaped sound-holes. Metal zither pins for tuning. Fingerboard length 261, nut width 24.0, width at end of fingerboard 36.0. The mahogany has been polished in the manner of early 19th century furniture. Metal plates are used as retainers for the removable parts.
