- This artwork represents three scenes related to the birth of Christ. On the left are two shepherds and a dog tending a flock of sheep, while on the right are the three Magi moving towards the central scene representing the birth of Christ. Saint Joseph rests next to the donkey and the cow, while the Madonna with her hands held together in prayer, kneels opposite two unknown kneeling figures, most probably the donors of the artwork. On the left leg of the Magi walking in the middle is the emblem of the Sforza family. It is possible that the work could have been a part of an altarpiece or a chest.
