- George Borg's crucifix continues the tradition of contained lyrical emotionalism, subterranean turbulence and passionate energy started by the Maltese sculptor Antonio Sciortino 1879- 1947) and followed by the Maltese sculptor Vincent Apap (1909-2003). The crucifix is a combination of meditation and energy through a linear simplification and travailed control, communicating an effect of silence and muted prayer.
