Michael Kashalos was born in 1885 in Assia village in Famagusta district and lived there his entire life. He first tried his hand on painting while at school with his teacher, Kyriakos Pierides. His innate talent became apparent and so did his love of painting. His attraction to creativity then led him to regularly attend the icon painting of the village church by fathers Kyrillos and Nyphon. …
