Watch belonging to Mary, Queen of Scots
The watch, or small clock, is in the form of a skull, of silver. It was designed to sit on a shelf, and there is a hole for (possibly) a cross or crucifix, which is missing. The skull is engraved all over with memento mori motifs and devices, and has several mottoes engraved in a band around it, besides the inscription 'EX DONO FR R FR AD MARIAM REG SCOTORUM ET FR'.
