Horus Falcon Figure in Bronze, MG 006
This bronze statuette is of a standing falcon (H 19cm), the form in which the Egyptian God Horus was typically depicted. The eye sockets have been left hollow to allow for an inlay of precious stone or metal. The surface of the figure displays a type of decay typical of ancient bronzes: the piece would originally have been highly polished and possibly overlaid with precious metal.
