Why can't some people distinguish colors?
We perceive colors only if the photoreceptors of the retina, called cones, transmit the correct information to the brain. Receptors exist for the colors red, green and blue. Thanks to their interaction we can differentiate color tonalities. But when cones present a genetic defect, color spectra scroll and overlap, becoming indistinguishable.
