42. Private William Beattie
Private William Beattie served in France with the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.
He received a left arm bullet wound and a shrapnel wound to his right leg. He was believed to have been wounded during action at Vimy Ridge.
The donor believes that Private Beattie took part in a firing squad.
He was discharged with honor on 8th October 1918 and presented with the medal trio of British …
