Gefallenentafel aus der Kirche zu Groß Bartensleben
On the north wall of the nave of the Groß Bartensleber Patronatskirche hangs a carved oak plaque to commemorate those who died in World War I. The panel is 117 cm wide, 131 cm high. At top center, an iron cross is flanked by laurel branches. It was donated in 1920 by Wilhelm von Veltheim, the owner of the Groß Bartensleben manor. - An der Nordwand des Kirchenschiffes in der Groß Bartensleber Patronatskirche hängt eine aus Eichenholz geschnitzte Tafel zur Erinnerung an die im 1. Weltkrieg Gefallenen des Ortes. Die Tafel ist 117 cm breit, 131 cm hoch. Oben in der Mitte wird ein Eisernes Kreuz von Lorbeerzweigen flankiert. Sie wurde 1920 von Wilhelm von Veltheim, dem Besitzer des Rittergutes Groß Bartensleben gestiftet. Die Inschrift lautet: "Aus der Gemeinde Groß Bartensleben kämpften und starben für ihr Vaterland", darunter in vier Zeilen die Namen der Gefallenen: "Otto Jürgens, gefallen am 11. Nov. 1914; Wilhelm Deppner, gefallen am 19. Sept. 1915; Robert Hagemeister, gefallen am 18. Sept. 1916; Gustav Tschepella, vermißt seit dem 4. April 1918". Die Buchstaben sind nur zu ca. zwei Dritteln mit goldener Farbe ausgelegt. Auf einem geschnitzten Schleifenband an der Unterkante sind, in weiß gefasster Schrift, der Stifter und das Stiftungsjahr genannt: "1920, Gestiftet von W. v. Veltheim".
