Karin at the Shore

Carl Larsson is considered one of the most important and influential artists in Swedish art history. Stylistically his imagery is connected with different international movements, while his choice of motifs reflected the ideals of the Swedish lifestyle. The family, the home and the simple, rural way of life were his motifs. Here we can see his wife Karin walking along the waterfront close to their home, while one of their children is rowing along the shore.
