Forbes' "Oriental Memoirs". Dhaboi, the historical city was made
the winter quarters for the Bombay army during the Mahratta
campaign in 1775. In 1780, Forbes (1749-1819) was made Collector of
Dhaboi, a post he held for seven years. Close to the Governor's
