Watercolour by Hyder Young Hearsey (1782-1840) of
the village of Devaprayaga with a rope bridge across the Bagirathi
at Garhwal in Uttar Pradesh, dated 11th May 1808. The image is
inscribed on the front in ink: '3'; and: 'Rope Bridge. Deeo Praug'.
This image, was taken while Hearsey accompanied Lieutenant Webb and
Captain Raper on an expedition to discover the source of the
