A transmission electron micrograph of a virus of the genus Polyomavirus, an oncogenic virus that causes neoplasia in newborn mice. It contains double-stranded ciruclar DNA enclosed in a 72-capsomer naked icosahedral capsid, 45-55 nm in diameter. Widespread in wild and laboratory mouse populations.
