October Blast: poems by William Butler Yeats

The National Library of Ireland has the world's largest collection of material related to the poet William Butler Yeats, including this copy of October Blast published by the Cuala Press. Yeats' great friend, the English author and designer Thomas Sturge Moore, designed the black ink publisher's device on the title page, "The Candle among the Waves". 8 of the poems in this book, which appeared in August 1927, were also published in Yeats' great work The Tower less than a year later, in 1928. Only 350 copies of this book were printed, making it one of the rarer Cuala Press editions of WB Yeats' works.
