German commanders, Spa, Belgium, during World War I. This is a fascinating photograph showing the war from the German perspective. It shows Kaiser Wilhelm II (1859-1941), Emperor of Germany between 1888 and 1918, flanked by two of his commanders, to the left Field Marshal Paul von Hindenburg (1847-1934 ) and on the right General Erich von Ludendorff (1865-1937).
