Sigill, Skriv/Måleriverktyg, Seal

This seal is part of a group of ten seals that were handed over to the museum inside a black lacquer box (OM-2012-0029).

Round seal with handle in the shape of a lion or tiger. The fur is indicated with short zig-zag and parallel lines on the neck and upper body of the animal. Features like the claws, tail, and eyes, ears and mouth, were carefully modelled. Decorative short lines can also be seen along the edge of the seal's bottom plate. A hole in the head of the animal probably served to tie a cord to the seal.
