An architectural paradise

I was born in a French hospital in Vietnam [Hanoi] in July 2010. My mum and dad had already been together for about ten years. At first I constantly kept moving between India and Vietnam. After 3 years, I moved to England, then 4 years later I moved to the Netherlands because my dad had work there.

The object I chose is a model Shard. I have had it for over 3 years. It is my 3rd most treasured item I own. It reminds me of the shard, one of my favourite architectural pieces ever.

Whenever I look at my wooden stands, I always think my shard stands out. Having it here transforms my flat into my old house. Whenever I see a tall building in Europe it always reminds me of The Shard [especially the Eiffel Tower]. When my dad moved to the Netherlands for work, the last thing I packed was my model Shard. When we visited the real Shard we straight to the top floor, and when we went to the exit I instantly purchased the mini Shard. Whether I’m staying 5 or 10 years at least it will feel like home. If I ever forget The Netherlands at least I won’t forget my Shard.
