Run-of-river power plant

SERIES TITLE: The countryside and its people

A farmer in Mitterstoder in Upper Austria built a small run-of-river power plant, which is environmentally friendly. If the power plant has a lack of energy, the local energy company provides the energy for the farm instead. When the run-of-river power plant produces more energy the electricity is injected into the local grid. So the farmer can earn some money with the energy surplus.
