Red copper foot ring
The foot ring is given by the owner to his slave. The ring is worn around the left foot. Given the strongly worn ovals and knobs, this ring has been worn for a long time or many times. The indigenous name of this foot ring is made up of the words 'Bèrè', which means slave, and 'Ka', which means foot ring.´ The ring is made of an elongated copper rod. The decorative knobs and ovals are soldered on.
