ROMAN SPOON

Terminal of a cignus type Roman spoon in the form of a bird's head; the rest of the handle and the spoon bowl are missing. The head is long and narrow, with a flaring, round-ended beak. A groove around this forms the mouth, and has small jagged notches forming teeth.
