ROMAN BROOCH

Roman bow brooch (dolphin type), 1st century. The brooch has a hinge mechanism but only a small part of the pin survives. The brooch has tubular (T-shaped)wings with a circular section. The wings have some worn linear decoration around their circumference. The bow is quite thick at the top with an inversed 'V' shape where it joins the wings, and tapers towards the foot.
