ROMAN BROOCH

Fragment of a copper alloy Roman Bow-and-fantail brooch, dating from 1st-2nd century. Only the bottom part of the brooch survives. This comprises a circular plate with a ring and concave central boss. Attached to this is the triangular fan-tail of the brooch which has two ring and dot motifs side by side at the terminal.
