EARLY MEDIEVAL STRAP END

Fragment of a cast copper alloy strap end, stylus shaped, suface lost to corrosion, terminal in the form of an animal's head with a long nose, its eyes consisting of large annulets. Three ribs at back of neck, body plain and D sectioned expanding toward bifurcation at which point there are two further annulets. One leaf of bifurcation missing.
