MEDIEVAL SPUR

A complete, cast copper alloy prick spur, possibly dating to the Medieval period (1000-1500 AD). The spur is formed of a curved frame which would have been broadly U shaped in plan. One side is now bent into the middle of the curve. From the centre of the curve projects the thick neck, circular in section and terminating in a rounded knop that forms the goad.
