ROMAN BROOCH

Fragment of copper alloy Roman brooch. This fragment represents part of the foot and catchplate from a 1st century Roman bow brooch. What remains is the straight foot section that would have run from the bow, and a fragment of a curled catchplate which may or may not have been perforated. The foot is plain but bevelled and ends complete without a foot knob. All the breaks are worn smooth and simiā€¦
