EARLY MEDIEVAL BROOCH

Fragment of cast copper alloy Anglo-Saxon square headed brooch of Hines group XI. This fragment represents part of the headplate inner panel and the bow of the brooch. The bow is rectangular in plan and flat in section. It has been squashed flat and no longer has its C shaped curved profile. A raised moulded border surrounds the bow.
