ROMAN MOUNT

Romano-British devolved bovine mount. The mount is in the form of a bulls head, comprised of an elongated snout and horns. The snout is rectangular in plan with a square cross section. There is a circular hole approximately half way along the snout, possibly used to secure a ring fitting. The upper surface of the snout has two grooved just before the cast, triangular horns.
