Pavia, San Michele, five studies of mouldings probably from the south door

Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Northern Italian Sketchbook - 7th July 1891 - : Some of the ornament drawn by Mackintosh can be identified as belonging to San Michele's South door, the "Porta Speciosa". Because the church is built from soft sandstone some of the work which Mackintosh sketched may have been replaced by different designs during subsequent restoration campaigns.
