South-East Dorset black-burnished ware 1
This bowl was excavated from a Roman cremation burial on a road leading from the fortress at Exeter. The shape is called a 'pedestalled' bowl and the simple decoration around the rim is similar to Iron Age pottery found in Devon. - Roman (43-410) -
