Fragments from left foot area of a gilt and painted cartonnage mummy-cover footcase: main piece preserves little toe and part of next toe, end of raised relief strap, and top of chequered area of side; four other toe fragments, a fifth crumbling (stored in separate box within group), one small area of chequered side, one larger piece of side with upper chequered area and lower pink rosette on white panel to right of vertical banded red, yellow, blue panel (stored in separate box alongside box with other fragments). From a group of miscellaneous cemetery finds originally the share of Jesse Haworth from the 1888 excavations of Flinders Petrie at Hawara, initially presented by Haworth to the Victoria and Albert Museum, and transferred to the Petrie Museum in 2004.
