stelae

Limestone stela with round top, inscribed in ink with hieroglyphs reading "revered before Osiris-Apis Horwedja son of Ahmes born of Sheb-[...]", and painted depiction above, with winged disk over Apis bull wearing sun-disk between horns facing right to offering table and male figure adoring at right facing left. Originally three or four ines of inscription. Lower left area lost, and small part of lower right corner. See too UC15807. Formerly in the Harding Smith collection (Sotheby's auction Nov 1-2 1922 lot 220 item 1), previous to that in the Amhers Collection (Sotheby's Sale Catalogue June 13-17 1921, lot 238, item 1)
