Two adjoining fragments from back of Egyptian tradition linen-based cartonnage mask with deep blue background colour, yellow headband, single loop preserved above line of headband. Left fragment upper layer of cloth bearing the pigment mainly detached from underlayer with corner patch pigment. From a group of miscellaneous cemetery finds originally the share of Jesse Haworth from the 1888 excavations of Flinders Petrie at Hawara, initially presented by Haworth to the Victoria and Albert Museum, and transferred to the Petrie Museum in 2004.
