THE WEST VIEW OF TORKSEY HALL NEAR GAINSBOROUGH

The ruins of Robert Jermyn's Elizabethan manor house (burnt down by the Royalists, 1645), commonly known as 'Torksey Castle'. It stands on the far side of the River Trent, with Torksey visible in the left distance. A dedication is inscribed below.
